Anosh Irani
was born and brought up in Bombay, India. He moved to Vancouver in 1998.
His first novel, The Cripple and His Talismans, was published by Raincoast
Books in 2004, in the U.S and Germany in 2005, and China in 2007. His
second novel, The Song of Kahunsha, was published in 2006 by Doubleday
Canada. It was chosen for CBC Radio’s “Canada Reads” in
2007. Rights have been sold to the US, Italy, France, Spain, Greece,
Israel, Brazil, and Portugal. His first play, The Matka King, premiered
at the Arts Club Theatre Company, Vancouver, in October 2003. His next
play, Bombay Black, was produced in January 2006 by Cahoots Theatre Projects
and was the winner of 4 Dora Mavor Moore Awards including for Outstanding
New Play. He is working on a new play, My Granny the Goldfish, for Canadian
Stage.
